Equals: Creation of a Message Against Hate

Overview

This pilot program in France provided an opportunity for students to create their own initiatives, products, or tools to counter violent extremism, anti-Semitism, and racially and ethnically motivated terrorist acts by creating positive alternatives and counter-narratives projects.

I was able to learn about prevention factors (to violent extremism), which are not taught to students.

The University of Toulouse and the University of Strasbourg were awarded for their outstanding work for the U.S. Embassy, France during their program.

During this program, I learned to be aware of stereotypes and prejudices, and even implicit racial discrimination. From this observation was born the desire to promote a message of tolerance, acceptance, and valuing of diversity. Thanks to this project, we have helped to sensitize those around us.
